What could be more fun than using your springerle molds with fondant and perhaps a little royal icing? You can impress your friends with these beautiful cookies for Valentine’s Day, Easter, Chinese New Year, or any other occasion that strikes your fancy!
Homemade or store-purchased fondant work well with our springerle cookie molds. With very little effort you can produce spectacular cookies.
You can use your favorite sugar cookie recipe and our cutters for basic shapes (hearts, squares and circles). To make the scalloped lace edge, we piped royal icing using a brush embroidery technique. Our friend Tunde Dugantsi from Tunde’s Creations has a YouTube video that demonstrates this technique as well as how to flood a cookie with royal icing.
Instructions for the other simple royal icing techniques can be found on many YouTube videos.
